Hello,

I initially ruled out answer choice D because I thought line 46-50 was saying that Pocock eventually admits that a counterlanguage was as important. I felt that this shows that Pocock isn't "insisting" on a single linguistic dichotomy though he may have initially. Please let me know why my logic is incorrect. Thank you!

Thanks for your question. That's a tough one, because the question specifically asks for a weakness found in Pocock's work. Although the writer himself eventually came around, the work he had already published would still be "insistant" on that single linguistic dichotomy's accounting for both England and the US in the 1700's, reflecting the weakness that Pocock later admitted to (when prompted by Skinner).
