LSAT Course, Lesson 3, Game 3, Q:20

Hi All,

I am having some trouble getting this problem started. Is anyone else having that problem or can someone explain how they figured it out.

This game is all about the super-sequence of two big blocks in the diagram, the H_J and K_ _ L blocks, both of which must come before O and which, due to the space constraints of the game, must interlock in some way. That is, the blank space between H and J is going to have to be filled with either K or L.

Once you have that, the rest should fall into place. In Q20, if O is faster than (before) F, then O, previously limited to being only 7th or 8th, must be 7th, with F being 8th. Since only F or G can go first, now G must be first. The placement of the two interlocking blocks means that one of them has to start in position 2, and that should lead you to your answer.

Getting those inferences up front is what matters, as with most games. Knowing that those blocks must overlap or interlock, and tying them together visually to show that they are both before O, will turn this game from a serious challenge into one that you can crush in short order.
