Could we assume that K must occur on Monday since in the setup it indicates, "its staff, each of whom works on at least one day each week" and it is followed by the rule "any day on which Kevin works is the first day during the week that some other staff member works?"
I have interpreted as, subsequently since all staff works at least once then K must work and since K must work it has to be first? Because if K works Thursday first and not Monday then it is not on the first day that "some other staff member works" since O's first day is on Tuesday.

If it is correct that K must occur on Monday then why wouldn't D) for #22 be the right answer choice if N works with K on Thursday and K works on Monday then it does not violate the last Rule. Please help!

Hi Jalarcon,

Let's take a look at that rule again, because it's causing you some problems. The rule as stated doesn't mean that Kevin has to work on Monday. If that was the case, the rule would read something like, "The first day Kevin works is first day anyone else works as well."

What the rule is getting at is that whenever Kevin works, it''s someone else's first day (just that person's first day). So, when K works, he'll be with someone who is working their very first day during the week (which will be J, N, or P, since K isn't a supervisor and a supervisor must work each day).

So, with that in mind, take a look at #18 again. The correct answer is (C), which contains a usable hypothetical. In that hypothetical, K works Monday and Thursday. Monday is the first day of the week, so no worries there. But on Thursday, K works with P. Notice how P hasn't worked at all up until that point? Thus, Thursday is P's first day working that week, and the rule is satisfied.

Whenever you find a correct solution to this game, whenever K works, the other person with K will be working their first day of the week (just like P in #18C).

Could someone explain the answer for #23 & #24 for Game #5 February 1995. The game about the Nikki and Otto participating in the sports during each season. I just can't figure out these two.
