Hello,

I was hoping I could get some advice on tackling Flaw in the reasoning questions. I've read through the Powerscore LR Bible and while it helped a lot of the other types, flaw questions are still giving me issues. Based on question difficulty ratings from sites like 7Sage (sorry to mention a competitor, haha) it looks like I'm getting all of the easy/medium ones correct but missing most of the "hardest" ones. Most of the examples in the LR Bible seem to be of the easier variety as are the ones in the LR Bible Workbook.
It also seems to affect how I do on the Parallel Flaw questions as well since they both deal with identifying a problem in the stimulus. I'm scoring at around 167/168 so even getting those few extra questions would help tremendously. Not sure how likely it is but I'm trying to hit 170 by December. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Jax,

Thanks for the message! While I'd disagree that most of the ones in the LRB/LRBW are easier ones (and there's statistical info that backs that up), that's not really germane to the point here. What's relevant is why are you missing harder ones? Because the basic process for solving any Flaw question is the same, so there's some disconnect occurring for you when you move into higher difficulty questions. That could be because there's a flaw in your process or because you aren't seeing some subtlety in their language, or several other things. So, perhaps the best way to proceed here is for you to tell us what you are doing when you encounter these questions. If I was tutoring you, that's how we'd approach it (well, we'd watch you do questions, but the idea is the same), because otherwise we're just casting around in the dark :-D

Thanks!
