Answer A is the correct answer to this question, so perhaps you were referring to another answer choice or another question?

This question can be directly answered by the first sentence of the second paragraph (lines 16-19). That sentence indicates that the Great Migration began in 1915 and not earlier because that is when the North-South income gap widened enough to cause the migration. This is best captured in Answer A.
