Hi Mahsa,

Passage B explains on lines 41-43 that griots were actually the lowest subcaste in Wolof society, and thus the least important or prominent. Paragraph 2 reinforces this, as it notes that higher-caste people were not supposed to yell in public, but griots could, as they were "unmarriageable outside their castes."
