Reading Comp Speed...AHH PLEASE HELP!

I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on reading comp. It is the hardest area for me, I know I am typically a slow reader but the passages make it even harder for me. I have trouble reading quickly and retaining the info etc. It typically takes me about 5-6 minutes to get through the passage. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
