Hello,

I have already taken the LSAT (this past June) and am currently enrolled in an online PowerScore class for the October exam. I am routinely getting around 16-18 questions correct on LR, 20-23 correct on LG, and am really struggling on the RC section (only getting around 13-15 correct). I find myself often overthinking the passages and either writing too much (making too many notes and underlining too much) while reading and other times I feel like I am not writing any notes at all. Can anyone offer me any advice regarding note taking and marking for the passages and ways to improve my RC score overall?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Great question. I think Reading Comp is the section where personal style matters the most, and part of it is really finding how much diagramming is the best bet for you. You might find PowerScore's Reading Comprehension Bible helpful in helping you improve your strategy, but it will cover a lot of the same concepts you're already learning in your course. Other than that, I suggest trying a bunch of passages in a row with different amounts of diagramming and figure out what works best for you, and then trying to apply that to future sections. It can take some trial and error, and then will take a lot of practice to get used to implementing it, but will be worth the investment of time.

Good luck!
