Why is D correct? I get why the first three are incorrect. I guessed D but don't know how to get that and prove E is incorrect. Thanks!

Hi jhobgood16!

This answer choice gives us that the book collector purchases the mystery. You can arrive at answer choice (D) just by referring to the final rule: "If the tragedy is not purchased, then both the mystery and the romance novel are purchased."

At a minimum, that rule tells us that there will be at least two books purchased--either (1) the mystery and romance novel if the tragedy is not purchased, or else (2) the mystery and the tragedy if the tragedy is purchased.
