Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?f=160&p=87962#p87962)

The correct answer choice is (E)

The question stem specifies that J and M each move the sofa:

Accordingly, G cannot move the sofa, and so from the first rule H cannot move the recliner and must therefore move the table:

Because H cannot move the recliner, answer choices (A) and (B) can be eliminated. Because H must move the table, answer choices (C) and (D) can be eliminated. Accordingly, answer choice (E) is correct.

Hello! I want to confirm why (E) is the correct answer choice for #11.

Given the condition that J and M help each other with the sofa, I set up the following diagram:
R: JG
S: JM
T: HM

I read the post about the phrase "if but only if" in the "Setup and Rule Diagrams" topic. I didn't put H in R because G can't be in S. Is this correct?

Thank you!

Yes, that is correct!

When M and H both occupy the sofa, then the first rule can't happen, which means Heather cannot move the recliner, and must instead move the table. At that point, you can eliminate every incorrect answer:

Answer choice (A): We know Heather cannot move the recliner so this answer choice is wrong.

Answer choice (B): We know Heather cannot move the recliner so this answer choice is wrong.

Answer choice (C): We know Heather must move the table but she isn't listed and so this answer choice is wrong.

Answer choice (D): We know Heather must move the table but she isn't listed and so this answer choice is wrong.

Answer choice (E): This is the correct answer choice.
