Good Afternoon,

I am in the process of completing my application to LS but one of the questions that stump me and I want to ensure I am answering correctly is the question that refers to a break during my studies. I was interrupting the question as while in UG did I take any break(s) in any of the semester(s).....no I did not. Same goes for Grad school.

HOWEVER, I did take a 8 month break between the time I graduated from UG until I started Grad school. Likewise by the time I start Law school I would have taken a 2 year break between Grad and Law School.

Does this fall into that category?

The only reason for my silly question, is that I was interrupting the question as while completing my degree did I have a break i.e. while in UG did you stop? I was not looking at the overall academic school career picture, until recently I started looking at the question from both angles and now I want to make sure I am answering the question accurately.

Many thanks in advance.

Hello ccp17,

I'd have to see the form and exactly what is asked how and where in relation to other parts of the form. If you want to be complete, of course, you may want to address that 2-year break and 8-month break anyway, even if there isn't a specific question asking about those exact kinds of breaks.

Hope this helps,
David

Thank you David.

Follow up Question. Those gaps are addressed by my resume because I have consistently employed throughout my academic career. Should I err on the side of caution and provide an addendum or that resume would be sufficient?

Thanks

Hello ccp17,

Again, it's sort of a judgment call. If you think the resume is enough, then maybe it is. Then again, if you want to "err on the side of caution", you could do an addendum if you want. If the addendum is too long and repetitive of what your resume already said, though, then that could be unproductive.

Hope this helps,
David
