Just making sure to purchase the right 2016/2017 LSAT Bibles

Dear Mr. David Killoran,

I asked very similar question in the past, that was 1 LSAT test before and other one just around the corner. But I now am registered for September 2017 LSAT and in the serious test preparation mode. So I would like to ask again, being just cautious, I bought 2016 LSAT bible books as well as other materials in the past. I sought your advice and you informed me that I only need 2017 Logic comprehension updates but not need to buy 2017 Logic Games and Logic reasoning powerscore from the bible set in order to be ready for one of 2017 LSAT tests. Is the answer still unchanged? From 2016 version, I only need to update of 2017 Logic Comprehension version in order to be competitive ready for 2017 September LSAT?

Yes, my prior recommendation to you still stands: the 2016 LRB and LGB are fine to use in 2017. The one book where I'd recommend the 2017 edition is the RCB. In other words, if you have the following books, here's the recommendation for using each in 2017:

• 2016 LSAT Logic Games Bible — ok to use for the 2017 LSATs
  
  2016 LSAT Logical Reasoning Bible — ok to use for the 2017 LSATs
  
  2016 LSAT Reading Comprehension Bible — I recommend upgrading to the 2017 LSAT Reading Comprehension Bible

Thank you for recommending the 2017 edition of the Reading Comprehension Bible! Would you please explain why the 2016 edition is no longer helpful for exam preparation in 2017? Specifically, how much of the content is different, and where are the differences? If I do purchase a copy of the 2017 edition, I hope to save some time by skipping the parts that I have already read in the 2016 edition. Thanks!

Hi Rosiel,

Thanks for the question! It doesn't quite work in a way where I can simply cite a percentage change, unfortunately. I tend to not only make additions to the text, but also remove other portions, and then reshape other sections. This is done not only to add new ideas, but also to change the emphasis on sections I feel need to be refocused somehow so they work even better. So, I can't provide you with what you ask for, and thus I'd say that since you already have the 2016 version and have read most of it, you can keep on with it.

Hi Dave,

To follow up on my question earlier: at last, I still decided to purchase a copy of the 2017 version of the Reading Comprehension Bible, partly because this is the section where my performance tend to be weaker. I am 60 pages into the book but haven't noticed any difference as compared to the 2016 version, so I compared the contents pages. There seems to be virtually no difference there either, except that what used to be Chapter 2 is now broken into two chapters--Chapter 2 and Chapter 3. Did I somehow purchase a problematic copy online, or does the 2017 version contains minimal difference from the earlier one (which does not seem to be the case based on your recommendation)??? If there is indeed a considerable amount of change, please let me know where those are.

Dear Dave and any other authors of LSAT

I just purchased 2017 Reading Comprehension bible book from Amazon (I am so sorry I did not buy from the Powerscore website) as Dave recommended me to.

Anyways, since only 45 days to left for September 16 LSAT, soon to be 44 days, (Minus the delivery time) I want to be updated and practice the newly acquired knowledge into practice ASAP.

Which area, or concepts, or sections or pages that you recommend from all 2016 LSAT reading comprehension book possessor to focus on for people who are looking to buy or bought 2017 LSAT reading comprehension book?

Hi Rosiel,

I don't have both books in front of me, but the split in chapters was just one change I made. I also tweaked the content and added information to improve the flow of information, and thus the improve the learnability of the material as well as the ease of application. The recs I make are either based on significant changes or feedback from users, and users of both book versions felt those changes helped make absorbing the ideas easier and faster. that wasn't the case with the LRB or LGB feedback, hence no rec there.
