Advanced courses no longer part of full course package?

I am a returning student re-taking to full course which starts March 26th. During the 3 weeks before the course starts, I was hoping to utilize the advanced logical reasoning course in the online student center as this was my weakest section. Is this no longer available and only sold separately? Also, any recommendations for how to best utilize all the materials available for the full course?

Is it best to read the lesson and listen to the lesson recap online before class then tackle the homework? I know there are many different approaches to using all the materials but if there's one that you all have seen work most efficiently and consistently for students, I'm very open to any and all suggestions.

Hi Catherine:

I would suggest attending each class, allowing the instructor to present the material to you, and then after class (or perhaps the following day) using the online lesson recap and re-reading the class material at least once. Doing it in this order will help you to not only review the material, but to review it with the ability to recall what your own instructor said about it at the time. After reviewing the material, tackle the homework.

Your post suggested reading the lesson or looking at the lesson recap prior to attending the class. That may be helpful for some people, but I fear that it might be counter-productive in that you will form an understanding of the material without the benefit of a live instructor explaining it to you.

Regarding the homework: There is a great deal of homework following each lesson, so I wouldn't try to cram it all into one night. If you can set aside a consistent time frame each day or each week for your studies, so that you are devoting a few hours every night or every few nights to LSAT study, you will allow your brain time to absorb what you are learning. Spacing out the homework will also enable you to check if you've mastered each skill/ question type relating to that homework section, and thus direct you where to focus your additional study time before the next class.
