July LSAT

I've been debating whether or not to take the July LSAT. The advantage of being able to see my score and cancel is very tempting. There is also the advantage of taking the test under real conditions, which could help me better prepare for the September LSAT, as well as the possibility of seeing what the digital test is like before taking it again. However, I'm worried about the impact of a cancelled score on my application. I'm not sure I would be ready by July and there is a decent chance I would cancel. I was wondering if you could give me a sense of how much a cancelled score can hurt me and if it is worth taking this test in July.

Good news: A single cancelled score—or even two—is meaningless. Law schools don't know why you cancelled (maybe you were sick, maybe the center had a problem, maybe it wasn't a test you liked, etc), they don't have time to make theories about it, and in the end they are only concerned about scores, not cancels. So, until you reach three cancels, it's not something to even think about
