How can I increase my score without an LSAT course?

Hi Powerscore!

I took my 3rd pratice test today and I'm kind of a little disappointed about my score. My diagnostic score was a 141. Then when I took my second practice test it increased to a 154. Then when I took my third one today I scored a 149 so my score decreased. I Scored high on pretty much all the sections of the lsat except for logic games. I score a 5 or 7 in those sections. For some reason the logic games is not clicking. And I'm using the powerscore book and it just made my problem with logic games worse.I want to know two things. My first question is how can I get better at logic games at an affordable cost? because I cant afford a $799 to 4000 course. My second question is how can I increase my Lsat score. Because I'm trying to get out of the 149-154 score range? My goal score is a 161 or higher.

You've made a good start by investing in the LG Bible, brebre234, and while it may be a painful adjustment at first to using a new approach, over time you should get more used to the concepts and strategies that we employ and they will become easier for you to apply. Right now it looks like the best way to improve your score is to focus on the games - there are a lot of points to be had if you are only getting 5-7 right out of a 23-question section! That alone could get you from where you are now to the score you are looking for, with a little extra. Don't neglect practicing LR and RC, but put heavy emphasis on your LG work to see major gains.

I hope you find some of this useful! Be patient, and keep on drilling on the materials in the LG Bible. The more you practice drawing those diagrams, connecting rules to make powerful inferences, and employing concepts like numeric distributions and conditional reasoning, the better you will get.
