Created an account just to talk about the November 2019 last minute cancellations and moves.

To be brief, I am a test taker with a disability who uses accommodations. My November 2019 test date was moved by 10 days with little warning to a day and location I could not take the test. I've since learned that I was lucky - many test takers' administrations were flat out cancelled. I have a suspicion these last minute cancellations and moves disproportionately impacted students with accommodations and am looking for further evidence of that because I plan on, among other things, filing an ADA complaint with the DOJ.

If you are a test taker with an accommodation impacted by the November 2019 disruption, please reply to this thread or PM me with your personal experience.

Thank you! So sorry this has happened to so many of y'all, accommodated or unaccommodated.

Hi there I was registered for the November 25, 2019 LSAT and after being approved for accommodations I received notification on November 5, 2019 that my test was moved to December 3, 2019. I then received an email at 3:12pm on December 2, 2019 that my test center would be closed on the 3rd and the exam cancelled. I was told that I could opt to take the exam on December 8th, and that my accommodations would be respected - it's 4:35pm pacific time, December 5, 2019 and I have yet to receive word about whether or not I will be able to take the exam this Sunday.

Otherwise I am registered for Jan. 13, 2020 but I fear this will happen again. I also believe that test-takers with accommodations we disproportionately affected.

First, I am so sorry that this happened (and is still happening to you!). This is far worse than what I went through. I cannot even imagine the kind of panic you’re feeling and this behavior is not only completely unacceptable, but a violation of the consent decree and, therefore, the ADA.

I don’t want to ask too much of you before you settle your test date and even sit the test, but could I PM and exchange emails? I have plans (this sounds so cryptic, sorry), but don’t want to state them here in case LSAC finds this thread.

I would suggest calling the LSAC and referencing the consent decree. That got their attention when I did it and they started being slightly more responsive. Maybe they’ll get back to you faster that way?

Again, so sorry this is happening to you!!

My experience is horrible. My test was changed to a different date, AND was canceled after waiting for FIVE HOURS with the proctors. AND I HAVE NOT YET received any call from the supervisor who told me she will give me a call by today noon.

Here's what happened on that day (12/3):

I arrived at the test center around 8am, and the report time is 8:30am. I met with the proctor who told me that they were just waiting for the test material to arrive. There was another accommodated test taker who was supposed to take the paper test. Her family even stayed at this hotel the night before just for the test. After waiting for three hours, the proctors told us they were trying to call LSAC and see what happened. But they were on hold for an hour and a half. The proctor even showed me her phone and she was on hold for that long. They did not want to cancel the test in the beginning, and they tried their best to stay as long as they could with us. At 1:30 pm, they told me that You Exam (the testing partner they work for) told them to cancel the test because the test material never shipped by LSAC. One of the proctors said: "I am so sorry for what happened. I was here 7am this morning. Unfortunately, we have to cancel it. You can try call LSAC."

Also, the test center staffs are very unprofessional! They keep getting me wrong answers, and they almost messed up my test. When I got the accommodation confirmation letter, I immediately called the phone number on the letter and confirmed my test. One week after I called in again and they told me that I DID NOT confirm. I told the lady someone confirmed for me when I called in a week ago. The lady said she could confirm for me again. One day before the test (December 2nd) I call the number again (3rd time calling) I was trying to confirm the exact address for my test center, and I was told that I am the only person who would be on test day. However, when I arrived, the proctor told me there's another test taker.

I strongly believe that this test center has management issues. I really want to know why our test material never shipped out on test day.

I was shocked. I could not believe this happened. After the proctors left, me and the other test taker stayed for another hour trying to get connected to LSAC. I was on hold for an hour. When I finally got someone to report this issue, the representative told me that she escalated my issue, and someone will call me soon. I live in LA, so I called the next day morning from 5:30am to 7am. I was HOPING to talk to a supervisor about my concern. I really hope to take a makeup test in December, because I want to submit my application soon. However, three days after, I finally got to talk to a supervisor after call after call every day since I never got any call from a supervisor.

I'm sorry that happened to you, cxmss170. Can you answer a few questions for me? When did LSAC inform you that your test date had been changed to 12/3? Did LSAC ever proactively reach out to you (email, call, etc.) after the test had been cancelled on 1:30pm on 12/3? When you got ahold of LSAC on the phone, did they say they would find a way to administer a makeup exam in December or are you still trying to make that happen?

Hi ycarrillo94, I realized I didn't quote your message before and I think that's how you get notified of a response (though maybe I'm wrong and I'm just bothering you!). Here's my response:

They changed the day two weeks before the November exam (11/25)
After the test had been canceled, they never call me back even though they told me that supervisor will give me a call. I have to call everyday and waited for 50mins just to get to talk to a representative who can transfer me to a supervisor. On 12/5 I finally talked to a supervisor and she said she would call me back on 12/6. But so far I never heard back anything. It really stress me out!
