Good morning!

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on using the original LSAT score in your prep vs the LSAT flex. I'm taking the November LSAT, which of course will be flex.

In terms of working towards my goal score in my prep, should I just take my raw score with the original LSAT conversion, or should I take my raw score and use it in the LSAT Flex conversion PowerScore has?

I want to have a good idea of where I realistically will score, and typically, I do better on LG and RC than on LR, which means the Flex scoring is better for more. But again, I'm a little nervous to use the LSAT Flex scoring because I don't want to get my hope unnecessarily up with a higher score from my Flex than my original LSAT score. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Hannah!

It's an interesting question because both are "true" scores to the format of each test. However, since we know November is Flexed, I would suggest taking tests in the Flex format, and using the scoring that comes with them (PowerScore has something like 50 tests in the Flex format, with a Flex-tailored scale). If that bumps your score up a bit (likely, base don what you describe), what's the harm in that? It's a great confidence boost and gives you numbers to shoot for on the actual test day.

Essentially, neither approach really makes a difference in the score because you get what you get, but I'd strongly suggest practicing in the environment of the real test, and taking exams tailored around that three-section format :)

Thanks!
