Hello, does anyone know if you are allowed to take the LSAT standing up/at a standing desk? If so, does it require special accommodation/permission from LSAC?

I don't have a medical need, I just prefer taking the test standing up at a computer as opposed to sitting down if possible.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi Joseph,

If I recall correctly, standing up is not directly prohibited by the rules of the exam (although those rules do occasionally refer to being in your "seat"). However, I know that under the Accommodations section of the test, one of the specifically-granted accommodations is "Permission to sit/stand during testing." That indicates that they view standing as something that has to be pre-approved. So, I doubt they will let you do it without going through the request process first.

Thanks!
