Archived Online Sessions

I'm trying to re-watch some of the sessions from my full length online course, but when I press play the file downloads as "nativeplayback.collab" and is unplayable with any program I have on my computer. Do I have to download a special program? I've re-watched sessions before and haven't had to, so I'm a little confused as to why I can't play them now.

Hi Chenier,

I'm not sure what would have caused you to now be unable to play the recordings when you could play them previously. The "nativeplayback.collab" is the proper file to see (assuming you are using a Mac), but it should be downloaded and then played by the Blackboard Collaborate Launcher App.

It may be possible that your installation of that app, which you can find in the Applications folder of your computer, is corrupted or is now for some reason missing. I would look in the Applications folder to see if the app is present. If it is, I would remove it, so that you'll be prompted to install it next time you play a recording. If it is missing, I would download it from the Blackboard site. This link will provide you with more detail.

Hi Chenier!

We have contacted Blackboard about this issue, and were able to determine that this has likely been caused by a Windows or Java update. Luckily, it seems that this can be easily fixed by downloading the Blackboard Collaborate Launcher:
