Can you please explain to me how C is the correct answer? It seems to me that passage A does have a specific example- used when referring to the American Historical Association that "was still historiography, intended only for other academics". Please help me understand how this does not get rid of answer choice C.

Hello Haleyeastham,

That was why C is correct; passage A does have a specific example, whereas passage B doesn't. Therefore, when answer C says that, it fulfills the conditions of "In which one of the following ways are the passages NOT parallel?", because passage A and B are not parallel, and in the manner that answer C describes.
