I do pretty well on Must Be True questions with an argument, but am having a lot of trouble with Must Be True questions with fact patterns. Is there any advice you can share about how to attack these questions?

MBT questions with fact patters always require a thorough understanding of the facts, which usually support an implicit conclusion. Your job is to figure out what that conclusion is. When approaching these questions, ask yourself, "OK, if I'm the author, what argument can I make using these facts? What's the bottom line?" More often than not, the correct answer is the conclusion supported by the fact pattern described in the stimulus. Make sure to avoid exaggerations, unwarranted assumptions, or could-be-true answers that cannot be proven with the facts.
