Over the last few months I've been sporadically studying, and recently enrolled into an live course. While I have been doing all of the homework and have been feeling much more comfortable about the exam, I took my 2nd test. I only got a 140, and am shooting for a 156. Is there another recommended additional homework plan? I have printed out many of the sections from the Powerscore portal that I have access to. Many of the LR questions I got wrong I had down to two, and just went with the wrong one. I got through half of the LG and missed one whole RC. There is a lot of room for improvement, I just want to get professional feedback before I dive into anything.

Any recommendations? Looking for some support here! I feel a 156 is realistic . I'm willing from after election day until the LSAT (I'm a campaign aide) to put in 4-5 hours. From now until then I'll be able to budget 2-4. Looking forward to hearing back!

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for the question. The live course is a good start. If you're not improving as that proceeds, I would consider finding a tutor, or if that's cost-prohibitive, find an LSAT study group with other aspiring test-takers, if you can in your area.

Generally, it seems like you're acquiring the basic skills (if you're narrowing down to two possible correct choices), but need to work on analyzing the questions you've missed, and developing more technique.

4-5 hours is adequate in the month before (any more than that risks burnout!). I would mix up timed and un-timed practice -- it can be beneficial to spend some time studying the questions more intensively without time pressure, and of course you also want some practice that replicates testing conditions.

Hope this helps!
Beth
