Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?f=362&t=3362)

The correct answer choice is (B)

The question stem in this condition describes a scenario that is identical to the scenario in question #15. Thus, we can refer back to the diagram in that question. In that scenario, G was assigned to boat 2, and thus answer choice (B) is correct.

Dear Powerscore,

I still have a question for this game for Quest 19.

Why does G has to be in 2? is it b/c if we put H in boat 1 than G has to be in 2?

So, basically I am wondering why the right answers are right, I put my own version of why I think it is this way, but I am still wondering what is the right thought process.

Thanks

Ellen

There are a few ways to approach this last question, and we can look at more than one, but one thing they both have in common is that we can look back to our previous work for help. That, by the way, is a great strategy in a lot of games - use what you already know to figure things out.

For q19, look back to q15 and the templates you did there. If there is one adult in boat 1, then there are 3 kids in that boat - the exact same scenario as q15. G can't be the sole adult in boat 1, because that would put F in 2, which forces G to join F there. With 1 adult in boat 1 it has to be either F or H, and whichever you pick, G ends up in boat 2.

Using prior solutions is fantastic - it allows you to get more bang for your buck and save time to boot. I often find myself on the last question or two looking back to see what I have already done, just in case something there solves it for me without doing anything more.
