Supplemental Material - LR Problem Set 1:

Q35: I picked D which is correct. But I found that E is very ATTRACTIVE. Could you explain why E is NOT correct?

Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely,
Sherry

Hi Sherry,

In that one, the author only tells us about one type of neurotransmitter--serotonin, which improves mood--this is very limited information (there might be others which depress mood, and others that do nothing). Answer choice (E) makes the very general claim that raising the level of neurotransmitters effectively relieves depression; since this is not confirmed by the information in the stimulus, it fails the Fact Test.

I hope that's helpful! Please let me know whether this is clear--thanks!
