Hello, so with this Assmptn question I identified the last sentence as the conclusion and in my prephrase I was looking for something saying govt by referendum contributes to those projects that at least initially benefit some ppl in society more that others. I got out C , D, E and had A and B this question def took me probably 5 minutes lolz and I still couldn't decide. Please help me !! Thank you so much

Hello, Jkjones,

I can see how you got stuck between A and B. Those are the two I would have gotten stuck on, myself! ;)

It's not B, because we're only concerned with government projects, not projects done by somebody other than the government. B looks good but is ultimately irrelevant.

It's A, because the link here is between the "diminish, not enhance" language in the stimulus and the notion of enhancing welfare in A. If A was not true (Assumption Negation!), then the point that government by referendum being less likely to lead to funding of large-scale government projects does not lead to to the conclusion of government by referendum not enhancing the welfare of a society.
