Hi gdgz,

This question doesn't require conditional reasoning to solve, so no diagram is needed and I would not recommend diagramming this out.

Instead, focus on understanding the meaning of the sentences in the stimulus, particularly the final sentence. As was mentioned in a previous post, since this is a Must Be True question, the actual logical validity of the argument is irrelevant to the question. We treat every sentence in the stimulus as true for the purpose of this question.

Here, Answer E is properly inferred from the final sentence of the stimulus. If any moral prohibition of violating statutes must leave room for exceptions, then it must be possible for laws to conflict with the moral code (those would be the exceptions mentioned in the stimulus).
