Grouping Games: Double Not Arrow vs. Not Blocks

I am finding it difficult to differentiate between Double Not Arrow's and Not Blocks to represent rules.

Logic Games Bible 2019 p. 366 Game #4

"Any language learned by the linguist or paleontologist is not learned by the geologist."

I initially diagram as:

L or P NOT G
G NOT L and NOT P

I then write this as G L ; G P

However, instructions indicate I should write the above rules at Not Blocks, respectively.

What is the difference and why am I wrong?
