Hi,

I was wondering if you have any tips on how to increase speed for the games section. In the practice tests that I have taken so far, I have been getting all of the questions correct, and my diagrams look the same as the ones in the answer explanations, but I am having trouble getting to the last game. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to increase my speed?

Thank you!

Julie

Hi Julie,

First, it's great that you are doing so well on the games when you have the time--that obviously indicates a strong conceptual grasp. That means that with a bit more practice and repetition you will almost certainly get faster, as the steps you take become more second-nature. Keep practicing and you will likely see your pace increasing as you go.

Another recommendation I often make: don't get locked into the order in which the test makers have decided to present the games--take advantage of the fact that this test is on paper, and do the games in whatever order you choose--presuming that you like some game types better than others, start with your favorite and go from there.

I hope this is helpful! Please let me know whether this is clear--thanks!

Thank you Steve!

I'll just keep practicing and see if changing the order helps. I usually get stuck on one game which ends up taking up a lot of my time, so switching the order around might be a good way to get to more of the questions.

Thank you!

Julie

Thanks for your response, and please let us know how you are progressing. I suspect that you'll soon be seeing significant improvements in your pacing on the Games section, so keep us posted--thanks!
