I am growing! When I first started I did not think I could conquer these games, now I know I can, however, the time devil is holding me up. For instance, December 2009, I did OK. The first game only two wrong, # 3, and5, and I guessed question 5, But, I guess that's an issue. I only guessed because it was way passed 8 min and 45 seconds. What can I do to be-able to that type of game in 8min and 45 seconds? II have to beat the time or at lease keep up with it.
Game 2 same test I did OK, only one wrong # 7, but, still not done in 8 min and 45 seconds. Game 3 horrible, I had no idea were to start, so for this game what chapter do I need to go back to and brush up on my skills. Please help. Game 4, way easy, got the first question right, had four min left, I believe I panicked. I did not diagram the game made no inference , no not laws, all because of time. I could have easily got all the questions right on this game please help me I have to do all game in a timely manner please direct me! Thank you.
I went back and did game 4 , it toke me 13 min and 58 second(smh), I got 3 wrong # 18,19 and 22. I do not know why I got 18 wrong . I had the diagram i guess I did not focus on the MUST be true. what should I have done and how is answer choice D correct for 19

Hi Kappe,

Thanks for the update!
I wasn't completely clear from this if you're also asking for help with a particular question, or just commenting on your process.

But some general tips about time:

1) First and foremost, speed in the games is a product of practice -- if you keep practicing, you should see some improvement.
2) Second, test out when you find it time-efficient to work with more templates and advance scenarios in your set-up. With some games, this will prove more time-efficient then others, and it's best to develop a sense of that through practice. The PS Games Bible is a useful resource in modeling how to diagram templates.

Hope this helps!

Well, I was asking for help and speaking on the process, I have power score Game Bible. I have taken the full course, What chapter/ Book do I need to go back and look over to strengthen my skills - to do diagram, to know what games do I need to do more templates for ? Specifically , December 2009 section 1 game 3, I went back and was complete lost, where exactly should I look to get better in these type of games ?

Hi Kappe,

Let me add my 2c to Beth's response above.

First of all, congrats on making progress with the Logic Games. It must be quite a relief to have such a palpable sense of conquest!

Second, there are generally two ways of dealing with "time devil," as you so eloquently put it: either make the necessary inferences ahead of time, or set up the game with templates. In fact, sometimes one approach can lead to the other: I might decide to set up the game with Templates after making a crucial inference or two, which restrict variable placement sufficiently to enable a Templates-driven approach. Inversely, there are some games where the ability to make inferences is the result of making templates (see, e.g. December 2009, Game 4). The two approaches are closely intertwined, not mutually exclusive. For a detailed discussion of how to identify Templates and Possibilities, review Lesson 9 in the Full Length Coursebook, and also Chapter 9 in the Logic Games Bible.

Regarding Game 3 in the December 2009 test, this is a Defined Grouping game where the rules use conditional reasoning. The key was to connect the rules in order to make additive inferences using chain relationships, and also to take advantage of the defined nature of the scenario (Alicia must take exactly 4 courses). This type of game is discussed in Lessons 5-6 of the Full Length course, and also in Chapter 5 of the Logic Games Bible.

Keep up the good work!
