You are spot on there, Sunshine! In this stimulus, we don't have an absolute causal statement. We have that hedging language of "tends to" in the conclusion, which leaves open other potential causes. The big issue here is that the physician jumps from a correlation (these things look like they go together) to causation (the hormones are causing the promotion/inhibition of heart disease). That's a big assumption!
