How is C wrong? Attacking seemed too strong of a phrase, I read it as a nudge to the anthropologist.

I think you're looking at Question #25, which deals with the same stimulus. Answer Choice C would be correct here, and you're right that the terminology used in Answer Choice D is too aggressive.
