Hi there,

Can you please give a detailed explanation as to why (B) is correct? I picked (A) because the outside influences of (B) seemed too extreme in comparison to the stimulus which cites reasons within the same transportation/accident realm. (A) I felt was broad enough whereas (B) was too random.

Thanks!

Hey Alex,

With parallel questions, you want to look at the overall structure of the stimulus and find an answer choice which matches that. In this case, the stimulus says that trying to mitigate one event is foolish, because there are 2 other events which cause more accidents than the original one. With that pattern in mind, you can see that answer choice (A) doesnt' match. It says that we should not try and mitigate one event because another will kill the pilots instead, which differs from the stimulus pattern.

Hope that helps!
