The flaw here is not that the premise was wrong, but that it was a logical error to come to such a definite conclusion based only on what the guard said. The guard isn't necessary lying, but because he is in a position where he might be blamed, one would want more evidence before coming to the conclusion in the stimulus.

Hi VooDoo,

You're looking for question #5 of Section 1 on PrepTest 5 (the June 1992 LSAT). This post is for question #5 of Section 2 on PrepTest 6 (the Oct. 1992 LSAT).

Looking at the list of PrepTests on the forum under LR, I see that PrepTest 5 and 6 are listed out of chronological order, so I can definitely see why you accidentally clicked on this test. I'll let the administrators know and hopefully they can reorder these tests.
