Hi! Can someone please explain why D is right and A is wrong?

D: I don't think Clarissa needs to disagree that "successfully doing natural science demands careful consideration of observations not stated precisely in quantitative terms" because she's just saying it requires you to describe results quantitatively, not that natural sciences don't require careful consideration of observations.

A: Also, isn't Myungsook kind of implying that you don't need math for the natural sciences to progress? This seems like he's disagreeing with A.

There's no reason to believe that Myungsook would disagree with the claim that mathematics has been "highly significant," Obamaspapa. Even though they think there is much that can be done without it, they still might believe it has played a large role. To prove disagreement, we would need to know that they think it hasn't been very important, not just that it isn't necessary in order to make useful observations.

But Clarissa thinks the only scientific observations worth serious attention are those that can be stated precisely in quantitative terms. That means she would have to disagree that you must give serious attention to those that are NOT stated in those terms!
