I thought (E) was supported by lines 25-27: "By contrast, when these movements later reached Spain, Spainsh poets treated them with reluctance"

What was wrong with my thinking on this one?

Hey summer,

The sentence you quoted and answer choice (E) contradict each other. Answer choice (E) says Spanish poets are receptive - or open- to the influence of poets outside Spain, but the line you quoted says they met such movements with "reluctance" - they were not receptive or open.

Hope that helps!

I misunderstood the word “receptive” to mean “being exposed to “ thanks for clarifying
