Hi :)

I applied to Law Schools in February of 2017 with a 166 LSAT and 3.96 GPA. I attended a small state school where I studied in Finance and Accounting. I was waitlisted to most of my dream schools (Harvard, Columbia, NYU, U Mich, etc.). I decided to work at Goldman Sachs for a year before reapplying this year for Fall 2018. I retook the LSATs in September 2017 (while working super hectic hours) and scored a 174. I am currently filling out my applications for the T10 schools and hope to submit by the end of October. Do you think I should include an addendum? Also, if so, do you think this addendum should mention my increase in LSAT score or the fact that I am reapplying after being waitlisted (either or, both, or none)?

Thank you for your help in advanced!

Hi Shortstop,

Thanks for the question! Were you accepted at any of the schools you are reapplying to? If yes, then addendum explaining why you declined and am now reapplying is appropriate. If you were never accepted, there's no need to explain why you are back—it will be obvious that you've come back with a better SLAT score with the intent of being accepted this time around. If you do put in an addendum on this, there's no harm in doping so, it's just not a necessary piece. The school system will link your info, and they'll know immediately what you are up to, and they will consider you afresh.

Thanks!
