We recently received the following question from a student. An instructor will respond below. Thanks!
I'm currently in the 3rd year of a Five year Integrated Course of Bachelor of Arts (Economics major, Political science and Sociology minors) and Bachelor of Law (Hons) in Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in India. I want to know if its a good idea to apply to CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice , as an International transfer students for an undergraduate degree. As I've heard that not all American Universities accept a foreign bachelor's degree, I'm planning to apply as a third year student at this establishment. What is your advise? And, what scholarships can I avail? As i'm planning to write LSAT after this, what do you suggest?

Hi!

The answers here really depend on the school you attended and your preferences, so let's go through them:

To see if John Jay will take your credits, go here: https://www.collegetransfer.net/Search/ ... nstitution. that will tell you if this is realistic or not :)

As far as whether it's a good idea, it depends on your goals. If you perform well at John Jay, you should have plenty of options as far as applications to good schools!

With the LSAT, the easiest place to start is by self studying using prep books. We have a free site at https://studentcenter.powerscore.com/self-study, and it gives you free study plans, access to test scoring, etc. It also links up with our well-known LSAT Bibles (see https://www.powerscore.com/lsat/publications/ for those). Note that your LSAT score will easily be the most important part of your application as an international student, even with two years at john Jay. so, make sure you put the proper time and effort into the LSAT!

Thanks!
