Hello,

I wanted to get a little bit of a better understanding regarding which GPA/Grades will be displayed for admission boards. I will be applying over winter break where the first semester of my senior year grades will be official and accessed. When I apply, should I consider these new grades into my new GPA since they will be reflected in my official transcripts?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Prelaw,

Those grades will go into CAS, and they will make the final determination of your GPA. Yes, you read that right: your college GPA isn't what law schools use, it's the GPA as determined by CAS. And sometimes the two are different, especially if you retook a class you previously failed.

So, when you are looking at schools, track that CAS GPA very closely as that's your "true" GPA number.

Please let me know if that makes sense. thanks!
