Hi. I am a retired teacher. I am heartbroken for the Covid restricted online students who have learning disabilities and who are not getting the help them are entitled to because of restrictions in their learning environment. I want to go to law school in an effort to help these students navigate the system to get the assistance they are entitled to.
The problem is my undergrad GPA is 2.84. I have 2 Masters of Education degrees and a solid resume. I have not taken the LSAT but am signed up for the November and January tests. I have purchased the LSAT bibles and workbooks and are awaiting their arrival. Do you think I should forget law school because my undergrad GPA is so low? I was a single parent working several jobs while going to school so my grades suffered. Any suggestions would be great. Take care and be safe.

Hi there mblack,

I don’t think you should let your undergrad GPA hold you back. But to put yourself in the best position possible, you should set your sights on achieving the highest LSAT score possible. A high LSAT score will open up opportunities and make you a more attractive candidate - and many law schools love to see students with life experience.

Also, you will have an opportunity to include a statement explaining the circumstances that affected your gpa during undergrad.

Good luck!
