Hello!
I am in the process of applying to law schools, and I am having a bit of a confusing time with a part on the C&F. I, unfortunately, received a speeding ticket in May that was over $200. I paid the ticket and completed driving school to remove the points etc. Some schools' application explicitly asks about tickets over $200, including a full statement of relevant facts and attaching final court documentation. I paid to get my complete driving record, and I also have the course completion certificate for this ticket. Is this documentation okay to provide and a statement for the ticket? I don't think there is so-called final court documentation. Also, some applications aren't as specific, but it seems to be implied, so should I include the statement and documentation in every application to avoid any problems? This is definitely causing me a little stress so any guidance is appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi mkemp,

Thanks for the post! It's always best to disclose as much information as you have; what a law school or bar association wants to know is whether you're honest and willing to disclose this information. However, speeding tickets are mostly ignored by schools since they're so common. It checks the box to list them but has no impact :) So, note what you have, and that should be enough. If in doubt, you can always contact the admissions office to double-check what their preferences are, but I wouldn't stress about it that much. :)

Thanks!
