Hi,

So I was told to NEVER put any HS information on my resume, but I am wondering if it would be ok for me to do so. I went K-12 at an international school and this was the reason for me being fluent in another language, being culturally aware, etc. which I feel plays well with the "diversity" sell of my application.

Is HS information still something I should stay away from?

Thank you in advance!

Hi GK,

Perhaps we need to hear more about the angle you are taking with your apps, but in general I'd still stay away from mentioning anything about HS. Typically, it's really hard to sell the fact that you are a a mature adult if your resume has HS references on it. You definitely want to note that you are fluent, however, and that in itself can lend some credence to the diversity play you are making (again, depending on how that play is made).

I hope that helps, and please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Hi Dave Killoran,

Thank you for the response. I decided to take your advice and not put any HS information into my resume. I was able to tweak my diversity statement in a way that made it so that I don't need it.

Again, thank you for the advice!

Kent
