I was wonder how to address these questions on your applications if you do have a minor sealed or expunged record.

Also, I have a question regarding transcripts. If I took courses in high school at a local college, must I submit this transcript as well?

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for your question. On the transcript, if it shows up on your college transcript as prior/transfer credit, then you'll need to get the original transcript for the courses you took in high school as well as your primary college transcript.

On the sealed-expunged question: It is more likely than not that a law school will not find or identify a record of this time. This however, is not a firm guarantee, so if you are concerned, you might make an appointment with the admissions officer with a school you are concerned with, and explain, clearly and without excuses, and ask for advice about admissions. For admission to a state bar, expunged records are still likely to be located, at least in some states, so you need to be quite open in your bar application, or there's a good chance you won't be admitted.

Hope this helps!
Beth
