Hey guys
Couple questions. Recently signed up for the Oct 3 lsat. Scored a 144 on my first practice test cold without any practice or prior prep. I have 6 weeks until the exam and plan to drill practice problems and exams until then. Should I reschedule to the December exam or take October and December before the deadlines of February for fall 2016. Born and raised south of Boston. Looking to get into Suffolk or northeastern law. Cum 3.0 at Bridgewater state u in finance. Chances? Comments?

Hello Kmitchelljr2015,

While one cannot answer all of your questions definitively (rescheduling to the December exam, etc., is up to you), there is some good news already, seeing what schools you want to go to.

That is, looking at an Internet graph of admissions statistics at Suffolk, you're practically in already! i.e., if you click on this link, http://suffolk.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1415 , someone who has a 3.0 and a 144 was waitlisted--but someone with a 2.95 GPA and a 145 got in. So you may have to do very little improvement in your LSAT to ensure that you have a great chance at Suffolk.

Northeastern may be a little more difficult: as per the stats at http://northeastern.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1415 , you may have to get a 155 or so on your LSAT to have a decent chance with a 3.0 GPA.

And on that note: keep drilling practice exams and problems and see if that helps. There is also the option of getting tutoring or taking courses with PowerScore, and using some of PowerScore's LSAT Bibles or other instruction books to help out.

Depending on how practice tests scores go, that may help you decide whether to take the October or December test, etc. Best of luck in any case!

Hope this helps,
David
