Hi all! I'm hoping to finish up my personal statement this week after a month of writing and re-writing. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in proofreading it and giving me some feedback? If so, I can send it to you via private message or email. Thank you!

Hi Liberty,

This is a tough one for us. While we'd love to be able to read every personal statement privately and then reply with detailed feedback, it's tough to do from a manpower standpoint. So, we've evolved a policy where we typically won't do private consultations like that unless you are working with one of the professional consultants within our Admissions Consulting program. If you do not wish to choose that route, if you post it publicly what we will do is have at least one person here read your statement and make some comments. That allows you to obtain some feedback (and although it is admittedly less comprehensive than in our AC programs, it is free at least!), and for us it allows all our other students to learn what works and what doesn't withing a personal statement, as well as how to evaluate a statement (which they can then apply to their own drafts). So, if you'll post it like that, we'll certainly give you our general thoughts. If you are concerned about your statement including identifying information, then I'd suggest removing that before posting, or possibly engaging a consultant to handle that for you.

Thanks!

Thanks for the information! I've only read your books and glanced at the LSAT portion of this forum, so I didn't know you had consulting services. I'll check those out! Thanks!
