Hi Powerscore!
I'm not sure why the correct answer is E and not A?

Hi gdgz!

Answer choices (A) and (E) do look similar to each other in numerous respects. Note, however, the language that "Researchers do not yet fully understand" that starts off answer choice (E). This captures more than (A).

Answer choice (A) is focusing just on the phenomenon, namely, of kinglets being able to survive during the winter. This only captures part of the passage, rather than encompassing its overall main point. The passage is not just about the phenomenon but rather it also includes a discussion of what researchers make of the phenomenon (see especially the third and fourth paragraphs, which explicitly refer to researchers).
