That said, do we know that Jane's argument has a weakness? No. Second, Jane doesn't even think that general agreement exists so Mark's comment isn't showing how something in her argument can be overcome. And third, since Mark missed Jane's point entirely, it's actually likely that he didn't see a weakness at all in what she said (since he starts out by agreeing with her). For all those reasons, (A) is doesn't describe the method here.
