Hello Powerscore,

I need some advice on which LSAT to take. I plan to attend in the Fall of 2017. I do not feel quite prepared for the September 2016 test, and the only other test I can take is the one in February of 2017.

I have read a lot of discussions about applying early vs. getting a better score etc. but I still cannot make a decision. I am leaning towards the February LSAT, but still feel the need to seek an assurance.

Here are some of the things that I am taking into consideration while trying to decide:
1: I have already taken the test once and scored a 158. This will be my final attempt, since I do not wish to take it a 3rd time.
2: I do not want to take the test this September and compromise on a score, especially since I do not feel adequately prepared or confident.
3: Given that most schools I have looked into, will accept my February test scores, I am leaning towards the Feb test date and giving myself some more time to prepare.

Am I making the right decision ?

I really appreciate any and all advice. I would also love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

Thank you !!!
TJ

Hi TJ,

Thanks for the question! From the way you discuss it, the answer doesn't seem very difficult. :)

It sounds like you would feel a lot more prepared if you took the test in February and, because the schools to which you are applying to are okay with that test date, there doesn't seem to be a downside. (And you are sure there are no relevant schools that wouldn't accept that test date?) The only other consideration I will bring up is that you will have to continue studying and practicing all the way up until your February test, and that is a big commitment of time. But it sounds like you want that time to feel more prepared, so the February date sounds good for you.

(Really, I'm just repeating back what you've already said yourself because it sounds like you just need to hear that it's a safe choice--it definitely seems like a safe choice to me.)

Hello Claire,

Thanks for your response. It definitely is what i wanted to hear LOL.
The more I read and the more I think about the September test, makes me immediately want to choose the FEB test date.

Thank you again !!
