I forgot where I read this in the lessons but I can't recall which is correct when diagramming neither nor rules/setups in LG and LR, is it the same as Variable and Variable, or is it Variable or Variable?

In case I'm not being very clear with what I am asking here is an example.

Ex: if B is before A, then neither C nor D is after E.

Ex: if the scientists theory is correct, then neither the sun will come out tomorrow nor will the moon come out tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure it means not C and not D are after E (could be at the same time as E), so C and D are both before E (or same at time as E).

The contrapositive is what is confusing me.....how do you word the contrapositive?

thank you..

Hey BoomBoom,

Good question! Neither/nor is the same as "Variable and Variable ." So, to use maybe a slightly more simple example, "if C occurs then neither G nor I occurs would be diagrammed as:
  • ..... ..... G
    C  ..... +
    ..... ..... I
The contrapositive would be:

  • G
    or  C
    I
Does that help that make more sense? Please let me know.

Thanks!
