Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=4080)
The correct answer choice is (D)
As we saw in the with the previous question, cage Y can contain four snakes at one time, which immediately eliminates answer choices (A), (B), and (C).
Y cannot contain five snakes because then there would be no remaining snakes to go with the gerbils in cage Z. So four is the maximum and (D) is the correct answer.
