Hello,
so i recently studied all the bibles and am debating on whether to take a prep course. My biggest concern is that, in relation to logical reasoning questions, my strategy is that I read the question stem first. Would I be forced to abandon this technique if i take the powerscore course. To clarify, when going over problems, will me reading the question stem first conflict with the lecturers teachings and how he/she goes over questions?

Hi H,

Thanks for the question! The answer here is No, you would not be forced to abandon your approach. We advocate reading the stimulus first because for the majority of students it works better (as explained in the LRB), However, I also note in those books that if you find that reading the stem works better for you or is just the way you prefer it, then by all means continue on with that! We want you to find the approach that works best for you, and if it differs form what we advocate, that's ok :-D

Now, in class, what you are doing won't have much of an effect. We'll still talk about the stimulus first, but since you will have glanced at the question stem already, you'll simply have that info as well. It won't change how we analyze questions or the value that analysis gives to you.

Please let me know if that helps. Thanks!
